This Intercollegiate Pigskin leather Football dates from the 1930/40's , and possibly even earlier .
It is the famous J5-V Spalding ball , and the Bladder is original and still holding it's required air pressure !
The leather is in really good shape considering the vintage ( Over 80 years ) , with only a few tiny game dings to be expected .
The original lacing is tight , and the circular Spalding logo is clearly seen . To the right below the logo are stamped the words : 'Lock Stitched' ~ which might well help in determining it's more exact age from an expert Football Memorabilia Collector .
The panels above and below the lacing panel have faint professionally written names on them that no doubt mention the name of the winning team or college on that particular day , which might have been a pivotal and famous match of those times !
Prices for this type and era of ball are sky high on auctions , but this particular ball is being offered for the reasonable price of $125.00 , plus shipping from British Columbia . So give it a try , you will like it !
