We are offering a safe and serene space for ONE FEMALE occupant. Ideally suited for a medical student on a clerkship or internship, a traveling professional seeking lodging during work weeks, or a single professional relocating to Cowichan and seeking a transitional space. Very spacious, fully furnished bedroom/study available in a beautifully maintained, owner occupied home. Kitchen and laundry is shared with homeowner. Occupant will have their own bathroom (upstairs from their bedroom). INCLUDES: all utilities, all furnishings, cable and in-room television, high-speed WIFI, kitchenware, bed and bath linens, off street parking for one vehicle, and a secured storage shed at back of house for a bicycle and other outdoor/recreational equipment. Home is located on a quiet, mostly owner-occupied cul de sac, 7 minutes walking distance from (current) Cowichan District Hospital, central to Duncan amenities, and on the main bus route. For cycling/jogging enthusiasts, the neighbourhood also backs onto the Trans Canada Trail network. The home is a large, 1,900 sq. ft., split-level duplex. Occupant will be sharing common space with 2 homeowners. Me, a mid-40s female entrepreneur running a home-based business, and my fabulous wee Hobbit-sized Mum, who is retired after surviving a stroke and resides in her own separate, self-contained suite. We also have two indoor kitties, which is why we cannot accommodate any (additional) pets. This is a strictly non-smoking (of any kind) and drug-free home and property, NO EXCEPTIONS. Best suited for independent, quiet introvert or mellow-extrovert types. Not well-suited for regular overnight visitors, so if you have a significant other or enjoy hosting regular sleep-overs, this is likely not the best fit. References and proof of employment and/or post-secondary enrollment will be required. Happy to offer pre-screened applicants an in-person tour, or a Zoom tour if you are not yet located in the Cowichan area. $875 per month (inclusive of all utilities, wifi, cable, and furnishings) plus a security deposit of $437.50. Note: Due to provincial and municipal short-term rental regulations, this occupancy must be for a minimum of a 3 month term and will proceed month-to-month thereafter.
